Companies
invest millions of dollars developing new products and getting
them introduced to the sales force, who in turn take the message
of a new product to the marketplace. Nothing has been more dramatic
in making this happen than the interaction of the computer and
video projector.
Whether on
a major auditorium stage for a sales meeting extravaganza, or
a salesperson's one-on-one encounter with a customer, the video
projector is now the favorite display device to present sophisticated
multimedia presentations, rich with visuals and graphics, text
and data, and even dramatic sound.
The revolution
in size and technology extends from the data/video projectors
for large meetings, to small group environments, with the trend
toward superb resolution pushing development in both. For permanent
installation in board rooms, training rooms and conference rooms,
cathode ray tube (CRT) projectors still provide the best combination
of resolution and brightness.
Digital Light
Processor (DLP) and Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) projectors, however,
weigh in at less than the slide projectors of yesterday, so packing
a dynamic multimedia show for the road can simply include a light-weight
DLP or LCD projector with computer scan rate capability, and a
laptop computer containing the stored visual data.
